Where to buy. UK rails first.
Type any coin. We surface the FCA-registered and UK-active venues first, then DEXs, then the international long tail with the right warnings. Plus the verified on-chain contract address for every chain the token lives on — because the most common way to lose money to a "buy" is paying for a fake.
> HOW THIS WORKS · UK NOTES
The Buy tool pulls live market data from CoinGecko and groups venues by their UK status:
- UK-MAJOR — exchanges that are either FCA-registered or actively serving UK retail with GBP rails: Kraken, Coinbase, Bitstamp, Gemini, Crypto.com, Bitpanda, Uphold.
- UK-BROKER — brokers / wrappers (eToro, CEX.IO, Luno-style). You're buying exposure, not always taking custody. Read the small print.
- DEX / ON-CHAIN — Uniswap, PancakeSwap, Jupiter etc. You self-custody. No KYC, but you can also rug yourself with one bad signature.
- INTERNATIONAL — no UK entity. Usually onboards UK users, but you forfeit UK consumer protection.
- RESTRICTED — NOT FOR UK RETAIL — venues with explicit FCA consumer warnings (Binance, KuCoin, Bybit, OKX, MEXC, Gate.io, HTX, Bitget). They may still let you in via KYC workarounds — that's on you.
For tokens, we also pull the contract address on every chain the token lives on and cross-check it against the Uniswap default list, the Trust Wallet list, and CoinGecko's own registry. A ✓ on any of these is strong confirmation; a missing entry is not proof of a scam (legitimate tokens often aren't on the curated lists), but it does mean you need to verify against the official site yourself before swapping.
Always double-check the contract address. Scammers deploy fake tokens with identical names and symbols on the same chain. The address is the only thing that can't be faked. Verify by typing the official site URL yourself, never by clicking a link in a tweet or DM.
Quotes are preferred in GBP first, then EUR, USD, USDC, USDT. Markets flagged as stale or anomalous by CoinGecko are filtered out.
This is not investment advice. Crypto is unregulated in the UK and you have no FSCS protection. Treat anything you cannot afford to lose as not affordable to invest.
